Oracle Tooling up for Entry into SaaS Market with CRM Solution

Microsoft at this year’s Convergence 2009 conference in New Orleans announced updates to its SaaS for Dynamics CRM system and  Last month Reuter announced that Oracle “plans to expand its small line of programs that companies access via the Web, said a person familiar with the strategy”.  Oracle has also said it will be offering some of enterprise applications as virtual appliances.

These announcements have set Microsoft and Oracle on head on collision in the ERP marketplace. While Microsoft is already in its stride in offering SaaS for its CRM systems Oracle on the other had according to the article “Oracle is developing Internet-based programs to help businesses manage human resources functions including employee recruitment. The company is also expanding its line of customer relationship management software, or CRM programs, which companies use to manage sales and marketing activities”.
